About Spillard Karate
This web site is about the clubs of Sensei Alan and Sue Spillard of Spillard
Karate, and shows only a small portion of the clubs within the UKSKO (United
Kingdom Seiki-Juku Karate Organisation).
Seiki Juku Karate-Do is a form of traditional Japanese Karate and in English
means 'True Spirit School of Karate'.
Students are taught foremost the art of self defence. Plus within our organisation students will gain increased coordination skills, a high level of fitness, and an increase in personal confidence.
The instructors are Alan and Sue Spillard, who have both instructed for over 25 years. Both have achieved the grades of 5th Dan and 4th Dan, this gives them the honourable title of Sensei. They are both full time martial artists and therefore can concentrate fully and 100% on the tuition of their students.
Seiki-Juku Karate is traditional style of karate and, unlike some styles, honour, respect, and etiquette still make the foundations of our school.
We believe that you must be mentally as well as physically trained, so that you can make informed decisions about when to use your knowledge.
Plus, we have a unique training system, where as well as learning the basic kicks and punches, we also combine other martial arts. This includes throwing, breakfalls, and weapons training!
