If your trousers are the tie up type ensure that you have a cord on the left side and one on the right side. Pass them through the centre loop and tie with a normal bow knot.

 

With your Gi top on, flap the right side over to your left and tie the cords in a standard knot, now repeat the same procedure with the left side ensuring that the badge is clearly visible on the left breast.

 

Now find the centre of your belt, place the centre of the belt in the middle of your stomach and pass both ends behind your back, ensuring that the end on your right side goes over the left side. Pass the left side under the right side to form a single belt brining both hands now around to the front.

 

The left part of the belt should now be on top. Pass the top part of the belt under the entire belt to begin the start of the first knot and pull tight. Now place the right end of the belt over the left end and tie in to a knot to secure the belt.
